Spring Walk around Ancient Woodlands
A spring walk round some of Wirral’s ancient woodland, a rare opportunity to view them with their ancient woodland flora in flower.

A tour will be given of the nature reserves of Tom’s Paddock. Foxes Wood, Little Thornton Common and Thornton Wood enjoying the spring flowers. These woods have no formal paths and the route is steep in parts. Stout footwear required. Muddy in parts. The tour will look at the ancient woodland flora indicators found with in these sections of Dibbinsdale SSSI. The effect of coppicing on the ground flora can also be observed as well as the regrowth of recently laid hedges. Lamerloons coppice has been freshly cutt since Wirral Wildlife last visited.
