Simple Folk were started around 2018 by like-minded local musicians who had a passion for acoustic and roots music, particularly from the traditional Irish Folk and Americana traditions.The group is made up of brothers Alan and George Blackburn, Patrick Kearney and Nigel Spencer. The instrumentation includes acoustic guitars, banjo, mandolin and cajon, and harmonica.
